Description
We begin at the birthplace of the city on Bisdomplein. During this walk, we’ll explore what defines a city and how Ghent developed as one. The stones of the buildings and façades will help us read the history of the city. If possible, we will briefly visit the cathedral. We’ll take a tour through the heart of Ghent, pausing at major landmarks from Sint-Baafsplein (the square of power) to Vrijdagmarkt (the people's square). Of course, we’ll also stroll along the Graslei, Ghent’s old port.
Modern-day Ghent is not left out, with highlights like the City Pavilion that reflects the past, artworks on the Korenmarkt, and typical Ghent products and features. In short, highly recommended for anyone who does not yet know Ghent and its people!
