Back to overview

Have the clown's pranks become fatal for him? Did the knife thrower have 'a bad day' or did the money issue between the circus director and his daughter play a fatal role in this drama? Each participant has a say in the murder scenario but does not know what others think about it. You will search for the exact circumstances of the murder. Through various game components, partly in groups, partly individually, you gather tips about what exactly happened in the circus. At the end of this game, we find out who goes home with the honor of being the best detective.

Description

The game progresses in different phases and is adapted to the setup of your event, whether with or without dinner. Depending on the setup, this can be played both indoors and outdoors.

  • We start with the game explanation. Then, participants individually contribute to the scenario: they choose their 'favorite' victim, the perpetrator and their murder weapon, the motive for the murder, and the tattoo found on the victim. There is also a first game round about animal trivia, in which we search for the victim's tattoo.

  • In the next game round, participants work in groups to solve some unique and challenging puzzles, bringing them closer to the murder weapon and the time of the murder.

  • In game round 3, it becomes a bit more individual with a playful bingo game where tips about the victim, their murderer, and the motive for the murder can be won. The trade in tips can begin...

  • A final game helps to address some 'loose ends.' For the best detectives, everything becomes clear, for others, there will be a lot of guessing. An online interrogation will determine the winner(s) of the game.

The creative visual material and circus characters that return in each game round add a nice extra touch to this activity.

Due to the interactive choices of the participants at the beginning of the game, each murder mystery unfolds differently. All tips in the game are adjusted to these choices.

Murder Mystery:
- Tables and chairs for the participants are a plus but not an absolute requirement.
- Possible as an outdoor activity if the weather permits (not in rain or strong wind).

Murder Dinner:
- Takes place seated between the different courses.

Other

- The murder dinner is seated at the table, indoors, and interrupted by the meal. It is important to provide at least 3 courses (aperitif, starter, and main course). A dessert is optional.
- The murder mystery can be seated or standing, indoors or outdoors (in good weather).

In the days leading up to the activity, no input from the participants is needed. The activity starts with a short explanation and then participants receive an online questionnaire: who would they like to see murdered, by whom, with what murder weapon, what was the motive... Based on this, the scenario is created.
