Description
This tour in Ghent explores the city's rich beer history. The guide tells about when the people of Ghent first drank beer, what they consumed before that, and where the breweries used to be located. Attention is given to the organization of brewers and beer carriers, and alternatives like gin and soft drinks are also discussed.
Culinarily, you are treated to a tasting of an Artevelde pils, a Leute, and the Wijze, complemented with Ghent tapas: Flandrien cheese, Beer sausage, Ghent head cheese, Horse garlic sausage, Tierentyn mustard and Pickles, onions, and gherkins. A second tasting follows of a local beer or a gin.
