Description
This workshop is all about collaboration, listening, and creating music together. After a short, accessible introduction to rhythm and instruments, the group is split into two teams.
The first team works with djembés. Under the guidance of an experienced workshop leader, they learn various basic rhythms, techniques, and accents. By building and combining simple patterns, an energetic percussion groove quickly emerges in which everyone finds their place. The focus here is on rhythm, dynamics, and teamwork.
The second team, meanwhile, discovers the trombone. Here, the focus is more on melody and timing. Participants learn step by step to play a recognizable melodic line. By practicing together, it becomes clear how important it is to listen to each other to create a beautiful collective sound.
When both groups have mastered their piece, the highlight of the workshop follows. The teams come together again and combine their musical parts. The powerful rhythms of the djembés form the foundation on which the trombones showcase their melody. What were initially two separate groups, grow into one large musical ensemble.
The result is a surprisingly strong moment where participants experience how different roles can form one harmonious outcome together. Musical experience is absolutely not necessary: everyone can participate and contribute in their own way to the final result.
An energetic and connecting activity where fun, collaboration, and creativity are central.
